Guest Post by Miriam
Today is New Year's Eve and me and Alice get to stay up until Midnight! My Grandma and Grandpa came from the airport and we've been doing a lot of stuff. Like we've gone to the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria. We went to see the Terra Cotta warriors which was very fun. I went to the climbing wall with my grandma and grandpa, and we went ice skating. It's really fun on winter break.
Today we are not really doing stuff. We're having fun. But we didn't really decide on what to go to so we're just going to stay home.
Miriam and Alice both had fun at the climbing gym. They climbed to the top of the walls and rang the bell. Alice rang it 6 times. Miriam rang it from four different climbing locations.
Miriam and Alice spent two hours at the skating rink, and really are learning a lot of skating skills. Miriam could go around by herself when she started, and was getting better all the time.
At the National Geographic Society, we saw the Terra Cotta Warriors. Inside the exhibit no photography -- outside the exhibit, a special photo op as shown here.
Alice took some photos of the Potomac River looking out the window of the Mai Thai restaurant in Alexandria. Lunch was also very delicious (see Lunch in Alexandria).
